World Vision International Uganda is seeking a dedicated and experienced Health & Nutrition Coordinator to join our team in Mbale. This is a senior-level opportunity to lead transformative health programmes in the Eastern Region of Uganda, directly impacting maternal, newborn, and child health outcomes.

The Role: Health & Nutrition Coordinator
Based in Mbale, you will coordinate and oversee comprehensive health and nutrition programmes. You will be the technical lead, ensuring the effective integration of services and building the capacity of local health systems and community workers.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate the planning, implementation, monitoring, and reporting of health and nutrition projects in the Eastern Region.
- Provide technical support and supervision to health staff, government health facilities, and partner organisations.
- Facilitate training and capacity building for community health workers (VHTs) and volunteers.
- Ensure the integration of health and nutrition services with other sector programmes like WASH and livelihoods.
- Monitor disease outbreaks and support emergency health responses as needed.
- Prepare and submit timely donor reports (e.g., USAID, UN agencies) and represent World Vision in district and regional health coordination meetings.
- Uphold World Vision's core values and commitment to safeguarding.

Requirements & Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Nutrition, Nursing, or a related field. A Master's degree is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in health and nutrition programming, preferably within the Ugandan or similar East African context.
- In-depth knowledge of Uganda's health system, policies, and community-based strategies.
- Strong project management, donor reporting, and budget management skills.
- Excellent training, facilitation, and stakeholder coordination abilities.
- Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of local languages (e.g., Lumasaaba) is an added advantage.
- Willingness to travel frequently to field locations within the region.
- A genuine commitment to World Vision's mission, vision, and core values.
