Head of Project Execution Job in Kampala - Private Sector Development & Public Procurement

The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED) is seeking a highly experienced and dynamic professional for the position of Head of Project Execution. This senior leadership role is based in Kampala and is critical for driving the strategic objectives of both the Private Sector Development Unit (PSDU) and the Sustainable Public Procurement Secretariat.

This is a unique opportunity to shape Uganda's economic landscape by leading high-impact projects that enhance private sector growth and promote sustainable procurement practices within the public sector. You will be at the forefront of implementing key government initiatives that drive investment, create jobs, and foster a competitive business environment in Uganda.

Key Responsibilities & Duties:
• Provide strategic leadership and oversight for all project execution activities within the PSDU and Sustainable Public Procurement Secretariat.
• Develop and manage detailed project plans, budgets, and timelines to ensure successful delivery of programme objectives.
• Lead, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of project professionals and technical staff.
• Foster strong partnerships with private sector stakeholders, government agencies, and development partners.
• Monitor and evaluate project performance, ensuring alignment with national development goals and donor requirements.
• Prepare and present comprehensive progress reports to senior management, steering committees, and development partners.
• Ensure all projects adhere to Government of Uganda policies, procurement regulations, and sustainable development principles.

Requirements & Qualifications:
• A Master's degree in Project Management, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in project management, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role managing large-scale development projects.
• Proven track record in private sector development, public financial management, or sustainable procurement programmes.
• Strong understanding of Uganda's public sector processes and private sector ecosystem.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Professional certification in Project Management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a strong advantage.
