FEWS NET Country Technical Lead Job in Uganda - Food Security Expert
Job Description
Chemonics International is seeking an experienced Country Technical Lead for the Famine Early Warning Systems Network (FEWS NET) in Uganda. This senior position offers an exciting opportunity to lead food security analysis and early warning systems that directly impact communities across Uganda.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead FEWS NET's food security monitoring and analysis activities in Uganda
- Manage technical team and coordinate with government partners including the Ministry of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries
- Develop comprehensive food security outlooks and early warning reports
- Conduct field assessments in various regions including Karamoja, Teso, and West Nile
- Provide technical guidance on climate impacts, market analysis, and livelihood monitoring
- Represent FEWS NET at national food security coordination meetings
- Collaborate with UN agencies, NGOs, and district local governments
Requirements:
- Master's degree in Agriculture, Economics, Nutrition, or related field
- Minimum 8 years' experience in food security analysis in Uganda
- Proven experience with early warning systems and humanitarian response
- Strong understanding of Uganda's agricultural systems and climate patterns
- Excellent analytical and report writing skills in English
- Experience working with international donors and government partners
