Job Description
The Ministry of Lands, Housing & Urban Development Uganda is seeking a qualified and dedicated Environment Officer U4 to join our dynamic team. This is an excellent opportunity for environmental professionals to contribute to sustainable development and environmental management in Uganda.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement environmental management plans and policies
• Conduct environmental impact assessments for land use and urban development projects
• Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and standards
• Provide technical guidance on environmental conservation and sustainable practices
• Coordinate with relevant stakeholders on environmental matters
• Prepare reports and documentation on environmental performance
• Promote environmental awareness and education initiatives
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years experience in environmental management
• Knowledge of Uganda's environmental laws and regulations
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and reporting abilities
• Experience working with government agencies (preferred)
• Understanding of sustainable urban development practices
