Job Description

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking an experienced Economic Recovery and Development Coordinator to join our team in Uganda. This senior role focuses on implementing and managing economic empowerment programmes that support refugee and host communities across Uganda.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement economic recovery strategies for vulnerable populations
• Manage economic development projects including cash assistance, livelihoods support, and enterprise development
• Coordinate with government ministries, district local governments, and development partners
• Lead programme monitoring and evaluation to ensure impact measurement
• Develop funding proposals and manage donor relationships
• Supervise and mentor programme staff across multiple field locations
• Ensure compliance with Ugandan government regulations and IRC policies

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Development Studies, Business Administration or related field (Master's preferred)
• Minimum 5 years' experience in economic recovery programming in Uganda
• Proven experience working with refugee communities and host populations
• Strong knowledge of Uganda's economic development landscape
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages is an advantage
