Job Summary
As a Dispenser at C-Care Uganda, you will play a crucial role in our pharmacy operations. Your primary responsibility will be to prepare, document, and dispense medications and medical supplies accurately to both hospital units and direct clients. You will serve as a key point of contact for patients, providing essential counselling to ensure they understand their treatment regimens, thereby improving medication adherence and health outcomes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescribed drugs and medical supplies.
- Maintain meticulous documentation and records of all dispensed items.
- Provide clear, empathetic, and professional counselling to patients regarding their medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects.
- Ensure efficient distribution of pharmaceuticals to various hospital departments.
- Uphold strict inventory control and storage standards for all drugs.
- Adhere to all national pharmacy regulations and C-Care's standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient care.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A Diploma in Pharmacy or a related field from a recognised institution.
- Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda.
- Proven experience working as a dispenser or in a pharmacy setting is a strong advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high degree of empathy.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Professional demeanour and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
- Good organisational and time management skills.
