Branch Manager Banking Job in Mbarara - Equity Bank Uganda
Job Description
Equity Bank Uganda, a leading financial services provider, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Branch Manager to lead our operations in Mbarara. This is a senior leadership role for a banking professional ready to drive growth, ensure operational excellence, and deliver exceptional customer service in one of Uganda's key commercial centres.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Oversee all daily branch operations, ensuring efficiency, security, and compliance with Bank of Uganda regulations.
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of banking staff to achieve performance targets and provide excellent customer service.
- Develop and implement business strategies to grow the branch's customer base, deposits, and loan portfolio.
- Ensure the highest standards of customer satisfaction by resolving queries promptly and enhancing the customer banking experience.
- Maintain a strong understanding of local market dynamics in Mbarara and Western Uganda to identify new business opportunities.
- Manage the branch's financial performance, including budgeting, cost control, and profitability.
- Ensure strict adherence to all internal controls, anti-money laundering (AML) policies, and banking laws of Uganda.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Finance, or a related field from a recognised university.
- Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in the banking sector in Uganda, with at least 3 years in a branch management or senior supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with a track record of building high-performing teams.
- In-depth knowledge of Ugandan banking regulations, products, and services.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- A results-oriented individual with a strong business acumen.
