Job Description
UNHCR Uganda is seeking a dedicated Associate External Relations and Reporting Officer to join our team in Kampala. Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in preparing high-quality external relations materials, including reports, briefings, and updates for donors, partners, and stakeholders.
- Support the coordination of all reporting activities, ensuring timely submissions that meet donor requirements.
- Contribute to developing and implementing communication strategies to enhance UNHCR's visibility and advocacy efforts in Uganda and the region.
- Maintain and update comprehensive databases of external contacts and partner organisations.
- Participate in meetings with external partners, preparing notes and tracking follow-up actions.
- Monitor local and international media for trends and information relevant to UNHCR's operations.
- Perform other related duties as required to support the External Relations team.
Minimum Qualifications and Requirements:
- Education: Undergraduate degree in Political Science, Social Science, International Relations, Journalism, Communications, or a related field. A Graduate or Doctorate degree is advantageous.
- Experience: 3 years of relevant experience with an Undergraduate degree; 2 years with a Graduate degree; or 1 year with a Doctorate degree. Experience in external relations, reporting, or communications is essential. Prior experience in an international organisation or humanitarian context is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong drafting and documentation abilities, excellent computer literacy, and understanding of programme cycles and reporting standards. Proficiency in communications, media monitoring, and analysis.
- Languages: Fluency in English is required.
