Agriculture Coordinator Job in Lira - World Vision International
Job Description
World Vision International is seeking an experienced Agriculture Coordinator to join our team in Lira, Uganda. This is an exciting opportunity to lead agricultural development programmes that transform communities across Northern Uganda.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and implement agricultural programmes focused on sustainable farming practices
- Provide technical support and training to local farmers and farmer groups
- Promote climate-smart agriculture techniques suitable for Ugandan conditions
- Manage partnerships with government agencies, NGOs, and community organisations
- Monitor and evaluate programme impact and prepare progress reports
- Develop agricultural extension materials in local languages where appropriate
- Support farmers in adopting modern farming technologies and practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness, or related field from a recognised institution
- Minimum 4 years of experience in agricultural development in Uganda
- Strong knowledge of Uganda's agricultural sector and farming communities
- Experience working with smallholder farmers in Northern Uganda preferred
- Excellent communication skills in English and local languages of Lira region
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and partnerships effectively
- Understanding of climate-resilient agricultural practices
