VSLA Project Assistant Jobs in Kampala - AWYAD Uganda

AWYAD Uganda is seeking two dedicated Project Assistants to support our Village Savings and Loan Association (VSLA) programmes in Kampala. This is an exciting opportunity for development professionals passionate about community empowerment and financial inclusion in Uganda.

Key Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation and monitoring of VSLA activities in urban communities
- Facilitate community mobilization and sensitization meetings
- Train community members on VSLA methodology and financial literacy
- Maintain accurate records of group activities and progress
- Conduct regular field visits to support VSLA groups
- Collect data and prepare timely activity reports
- Collaborate with local leaders and stakeholders
- Support the documentation of success stories and best practices

Requirements:
- Diploma or Certificate in Community Development, Social Work, or related field
- Minimum 1 year experience in community development work
- Previous experience with VSLA methodology preferred
- Excellent communication and facilitation skills in English and local languages
- Strong understanding of Ugandan community structures
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural settings
- Willingness to travel frequently within Kampala and surrounding areas
