Job Description
WaterAid Uganda is seeking an experienced Technical Lead to join our dynamic team in Kampala. This senior-level position offers an exciting opportunity to lead technical initiatives that directly impact communities across Uganda through improved water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH) programmes.
As a Technical Lead at WaterAid Uganda, you will:
• Provide technical leadership and strategic direction for WASH engineering projects
• Oversee the design, implementation, and monitoring of water supply systems and sanitation facilities
• Mentor and manage a team of technical professionals and field engineers
• Collaborate with government agencies, local partners, and community stakeholders
• Ensure all technical solutions meet Ugandan national standards and international best practices
• Develop innovative approaches to address Uganda's unique WASH challenges
• Manage project budgets, timelines, and technical reporting requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Water Engineering, or related field (Master's preferred)
• Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in WASH sector in Uganda
• Professional registration with Uganda Engineers Registration Board required
• Proven experience managing technical teams and complex water projects
• Strong knowledge of Ugandan water sector policies and regulations
• Experience working with rural communities across different regions of Uganda
