Job Description
The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development Uganda is seeking a qualified Sustainable Public Procurement Specialist to join our team in Kampala. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to Uganda's sustainable development goals through innovative procurement practices.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement sustainable public procurement policies and frameworks
• Provide technical guidance on green procurement practices across government ministries
• Conduct capacity building and training programmes for procurement officers
• Monitor and evaluate sustainable procurement implementation across public entities
• Ensure compliance with national environmental standards and international best practices
• Prepare reports on sustainable procurement performance and impact
• Collaborate with stakeholders to promote sustainable sourcing and local content development
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Economics, Environmental Science or related field
• Minimum 5 years' experience in public procurement or sustainable development
• Professional qualification in procurement (CIPS or equivalent)
• Strong understanding of Uganda's Public Procurement and Disposal of Public Assets Act
• Experience working with government agencies or development partners
• Excellent analytical and report writing skills
