Are you a dynamic sales leader with a passion for the vibrant beverage industry? Uganda Breweries Limited (UBL), part of the global Diageo family, is seeking an experienced Sales Manager - On Trade to lead our team in Kampala and drive market leadership for our iconic brands.

About the Role


As the Sales Manager - On Trade, you will be at the forefront of our business, responsible for developing and executing winning sales strategies for the on-trade channel across Kampala and the designated region. You will lead a dedicated team to achieve ambitious volume, revenue, and profit targets, ensuring our brands like Bell Lager, Guinness, and Smirnoff are the preferred choice in bars, restaurants, hotels, and clubs.

Key Responsibilities



  • Lead, coach, and develop the on-trade sales team to exceed performance targets.

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies and trade marketing programmes for the on-trade channel.

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key customers and distributors.

  • Conduct regular market visits to monitor competitor activity, identify new opportunities, and ensure perfect execution of promotions and point-of-sale materials.

  • Collaborate closely with Marketing and Supply Chain teams to optimise product availability and brand visibility.

  • Manage the sales budget effectively, controlling costs while maximising return on investment.

  • Analyse sales data and market trends to inform strategy and report on performance.

What We Are Looking For



  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Extensive experience (5+ years) in sales management within the FMCG or beverage industry, with a proven track record in the on-trade channel.

  • Strong leadership skills with experience in managing and motivating a field sales team.

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.

  • Deep understanding of the Ugandan market dynamics and the Kampala on-trade landscape.

  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Valid driver's licence.
