Job Description

TASO Uganda is seeking a dedicated Research Ethics Committee Administrator to join our team at TASO Headquarters in Kampala. This is a full-time contract position offering an exciting opportunity to contribute to ethical research practices in Uganda's healthcare sector.

Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and administer all Research Ethics Committee activities and meetings
- Maintain accurate records of REC proceedings and decisions
- Facilitate ethical review processes for research proposals
- Ensure compliance with national and international research ethics guidelines
- Manage communication between researchers and the ethics committee
- Organize training and capacity building sessions on research ethics
- Prepare regular reports on committee activities and outcomes

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Social Sciences, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in research administration or ethics coordination
- Knowledge of Uganda National Council for Science and Technology guidelines
- Understanding of Good Clinical Practice and ethical principles in research
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Experience working in healthcare or research institutions in Uganda
