Sightsavers, an international non-governmental organisation (NGO) dedicated to eliminating avoidable blindness and promoting the rights of people with disabilities, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Project Coordinator to join its team in Uganda. Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Coordinate the planning, implementation, and monitoring of Sightsavers' projects in Uganda, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and donor requirements.
- Liaise with local partners, government agencies, and community stakeholders to foster strong collaborative relationships.
- Prepare detailed project reports, work plans, and budgets, ensuring timely submission and accurate financial accountability.
- Monitor project activities on the ground, track progress against targets, and identify any challenges or risks for proactive management.
- Support capacity building for local partners and project staff to ensure sustainable project outcomes.
- Represent Sightsavers at relevant district and national-level meetings, workshops, and technical working groups.
Qualifications and Experience Required
- A Bachelor's degree in Project Management, Public Health, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in project coordination or management within the NGO sector, preferably in health, disability inclusion, or community development in Uganda.
- Strong understanding of project cycle management, logical frameworks, and results-based management.
- Excellent report writing, financial management, and data analysis skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management software.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English. Knowledge of local languages is beneficial.
- Ability to travel frequently within Uganda to project sites.
