Program Support Specialist Job at Compassion International in Kampala, Uganda

Compassion International, a leading Christian child development organisation, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Program Support Specialist to join our team in Kampala, Uganda. This is an excellent opportunity for a professional with a background in social sciences or development studies to contribute to meaningful work that transforms the lives of children in Uganda.

Key Responsibilities

As a Program Support Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our programmes. Your day-to-day duties will include:

• Accurately managing data entry and maintaining comprehensive programme records and databases.
• Preparing and compiling regular reports on programme activities, progress, and outcomes for management review.
• Coordinating logistics for various programme activities, workshops, and field visits for staff and partners.
• Providing essential support for monitoring and evaluation (M&E) processes to track programme impact.
• Facilitating clear and effective communication between field staff in different regions and the central office in Kampala.
• Assisting the programme team with administrative tasks to enhance overall efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience Required

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following:

• A Diploma in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Social Work, or a closely related field from a recognised institution.
• At least two (2) years of proven experience in a programme support, administrative, or M&E role within an NGO, development agency, or similar organisation in Uganda.
• Strong computer skills, including high proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with data management software.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of local languages is an added advantage.
• Exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• A proactive team player with a heart for community development and child welfare.
