Program Manager - Health and Nutrition Job in Kampala, Uganda
Job Description
World Vision International Uganda is seeking a dedicated and experienced Program Manager for Health and Nutrition to join our team in Kampala. This is a senior leadership role where you will lead transformative health initiatives that directly impact vulnerable communities across Uganda.

This fixed-term position offers a unique opportunity to manage critical health and nutrition programmes, coordinate with key stakeholders like the Ministry of Health, and advocate for policies that improve public health outcomes in Uganda.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Lead the strategic design, planning, and implementation of comprehensive health and nutrition projects in Uganda.
- Manage and mentor a team of project staff, ensuring high performance and professional development.
- Coordinate effectively with government bodies (especially the Ministry of Health), partner NGOs, and community stakeholders.
- Monitor and evaluate programme progress, impact, and adherence to national and international quality standards.
- Prepare, manage, and oversee project budgets, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and organisational policies.
- Develop timely and accurate reports for donors, management, and government partners.
- Advocate for evidence-based health and nutrition policies and practices at district and national levels.
Qualifications & Experience Required:
- A Bachelorβs degree in Public Health, Nutrition, or a related field is mandatory. A Masterβs degree is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of proven experience in health/nutrition programming within the Ugandan or similar context.
- At least 3 years of experience in a programme management or senior leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of the Ugandan health system, policies, and key stakeholders.
- Strong project management, financial management, and donor reporting skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in English; knowledge of local Ugandan languages is a significant advantage.
