Physician Manager Job at Aga Khan Health Services in Kampala, Uganda

Aga Khan Health Services, a leading healthcare provider in East Africa, is seeking a qualified and experienced Physician Manager to join our team in Kampala, Uganda. This is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing clinical services, ensuring the highest standards of patient care, and managing medical staff at our facility.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide clinical leadership and supervision to physicians and medical staff.
- Develop, implement, and monitor clinical protocols and standards of care.
- Ensure compliance with Ugandan medical regulations and Aga Khan Health Services policies.
- Manage physician schedules, recruitment, and performance evaluations.
- Collaborate with hospital administration on budgeting, resource allocation, and strategic planning.
- Foster a culture of continuous quality improvement and patient safety.
- Mentor and support the professional development of junior doctors and clinical teams.

Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent from a recognised institution.
- Full registration and a valid annual practising licence from the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council (UMDPC).
- A Master's degree in Public Health, Health Management, Business Administration, or a related field is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of post-qualification clinical experience, with at least 3-5 years in a hospital management or supervisory role.
- Proven leadership skills and experience in managing multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent knowledge of the Ugandan healthcare landscape and regulatory framework.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
