NIC General Insurance Company, a leading Ugandan insurer and subsidiary of NIC Holdings Limited, is seeking a professional and organised Office Secretary to join our team in Mukono. As an Office Secretary, you will be the operational backbone of our Mukono office, ensuring smooth administrative processes and providing top-tier support to our team and clients. You will play a crucial role in maintaining our high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage front desk operations, including greeting visitors, handling incoming calls, and directing inquiries.
• Perform general clerical duties such as filing, photocopying, scanning, and data entry.
• Handle office correspondence, including drafting letters, emails, and memos.
• Maintain an organised filing system for both physical and digital documents.
• Schedule appointments, meetings, and manage calendars for office staff.
• Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and meeting minutes.
• Manage office supplies inventory and place orders when necessary.
• Provide administrative support to ensure efficient operation of the Mukono office.
• Uphold the professional image and values of NIC General at all times.
Requirements & Qualifications:
• Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) or equivalent; a diploma in Secretarial Studies, Office Administration, or a related field is a strong advantage.
• Minimum of 1-2 years of proven experience in a similar secretarial or administrative role.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
• Strong organisational skills with keen attention to detail.
• Professional demeanour and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask, prioritise work, and maintain confidentiality.
• Knowledge of the local Mukono area is beneficial.
