Medical Officer TB Care Job at Infectious Diseases Institute Mulago

The Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI) is seeking a dedicated Medical Officer to join our USAID LPHS-TB Activity team in Mulago. This is a critical role focused on enhancing tuberculosis care and treatment services in Uganda.

As a Medical Officer, you will provide technical and leadership support to health facility teams to ensure delivery of quality TB care services. This position offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to Uganda's healthcare system while working with a leading health institution.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide technical guidance and supervision for TB care and treatment services
• Lead and support health facility teams in delivering quality patient care
• Ensure compliance with national TB treatment guidelines and protocols
• Monitor and evaluate TB program performance and outcomes
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams
• Support capacity building and training of health workers
• Maintain accurate medical records and reports

Qualifications and Requirements:
• Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) or equivalent
• Valid registration with Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council
• Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in TB/HIV care
• Experience in public health programs preferred
• Strong leadership and team management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Knowledge of Uganda's healthcare system and TB control programs
