Job Summary

As a Laboratory Technologist at C-Care Uganda, you will play a crucial role in our diagnostic services. Your primary responsibility will be to serve patients by expertly collecting specimens, preparing them for analysis, and performing accurate laboratory tests following strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). You will ensure the efficient delivery of reliable test reports that are vital for patient diagnosis and treatment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Carry out the day-to-day operational running of the laboratory department.
• Perform a wide range of laboratory tests and procedures with precision and accuracy.
• Identify and implement the best methods for specimen collection and retrieval.
• Prepare and process specimens correctly for laboratory testing.
• Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment according to SOPs.
• Ensure strict adherence to quality control and quality assurance protocols.
• Maintain accurate records of tests, results, and patient information.
• Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and other healthcare staff to support patient care.
• Uphold high standards of biosafety and infection control within the lab.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognised institution.
• Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda.
• At least 2 years of proven experience working in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, procedures, and safety standards.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing accurate work.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
