About the Role

As a Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for the efficient and accurate operation of our laboratory department. Your primary focus will be on serving patients by expertly collecting specimens, preparing them for analysis, and performing a range of laboratory tests in strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). You will ensure the timely delivery of precise and reliable test reports that are crucial for patient diagnosis and treatment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Carry out the day-to-day operational running of the laboratory department.
• Identify and execute the best methods for specimen collection and retrieval.
• Prepare all specimens correctly for laboratory testing and analysis.
• Perform a variety of laboratory testing procedures with precision and care.
• Follow all established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols meticulously.
• Ensure the efficient delivery of accurate and timely laboratory reports.
• Maintain and calibrate laboratory equipment as required.
• Uphold the highest standards of quality control and assurance in all processes.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda.
• Proven experience working in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, safety protocols, and quality control.
• Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and under pressure.
