Laboratory Technologist Job at C-Care IMC Hospital in Entebbe, Uganda

About the Role:
As a Laboratory Technologist at C-Care IMC Entebbe, you will play a critical role in our diagnostic services. You will be responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of patient specimens, performing laboratory tests, and ensuring the timely delivery of reliable results that guide patient treatment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
* Perform routine and specialised laboratory tests in areas such as haematology, clinical chemistry, microbiology, and parasitology.
* Collect, prepare, and process patient specimens using correct techniques and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
* Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory equipment to ensure optimal performance.
* Accurately record, analyse, and report test results using the laboratory information system.
* Ensure strict adherence to quality control and quality assurance protocols.
* Maintain a clean, safe, and organised laboratory environment in compliance with biosafety standards.
* Participate in inventory management of laboratory reagents and supplies.
* Provide excellent service to patients and clinicians.

Requirements and Qualifications:
* Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Technology from a recognised institution.
* Must be registered with the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda and possess a valid practising licence.
* Minimum of 2 years of practical experience working in a hospital or clinical laboratory setting.
* Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, safety protocols, and quality management systems.
* Proficiency in using modern laboratory equipment and information systems.
* Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and a commitment to accuracy.
* Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
