Job Summary
As a Dispenser at C-Care IMC, you will play a crucial role in our pharmacy operations. You will be responsible for the accurate preparation, documentation, and dispensing of medications and medical supplies to various hospital units and directly to our patients. Your work ensures the safe and efficient delivery of pharmaceutical care, directly impacting patient health outcomes and treatment adherence.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Accurately prepare and dispense prescribed drugs and medical supplies to patients and hospital departments.
- Maintain meticulous documentation and records of all dispensed medications in compliance with hospital and national regulations.
- Provide clear, empathetic, and professional counselling to patients regarding their medication, including dosage, administration, and potential side effects.
- Work collaboratively with pharmacists, doctors, and nurses to ensure optimal patient care.
- Manage pharmacy inventory, including stock-taking and ensuring proper storage conditions for drugs.
- Uphold the highest standards of professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical practice.
- Participate in continuous training and development programmes offered by the hospital.
Requirements & Qualifications
- A recognised Diploma in Pharmacy or a related field from a recognised institution.
- Valid practising licence from the Allied Health Professionals Council of Uganda.
- Proven experience working as a dispenser or pharmacy technician in a hospital or clinic setting is a strong advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centred approach.
- Strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Integrity, professionalism, and a commitment to continuous learning.
