Harvest Supervisor Job at Yalelo Uganda in Butembe-Buikwe

Yalelo Uganda, a leading aquaculture and fish farming company, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Harvest Supervisor to join our Lake Operations team in Butembe-Buikwe. This is a full-time position offering an excellent opportunity to grow your career in Uganda's thriving aquaculture sector.

As a Harvest Supervisor, you will play a critical role in overseeing our fish harvesting operations on Lake Victoria. You will ensure efficient, safe, and high-quality harvesting processes that meet both company standards and market demands.

Key Responsibilities:
• Supervise daily fish harvesting activities and operations on Lake Victoria
• Lead and manage a team of harvest technicians and assistants
• Ensure all harvesting procedures follow strict quality and safety standards
• Monitor fish health, size, and quality during harvest operations
• Coordinate with logistics and processing teams for timely fish transport
• Maintain accurate harvest records and production reports
• Implement and enforce safety protocols for all lake operations
• Train and develop team members on proper harvesting techniques
• Troubleshoot operational challenges and implement solutions

Requirements & Qualifications:
• Minimum of Diploma in Fisheries, Aquaculture, Agriculture, or related field
• At least 3 years of experience in fish harvesting or aquaculture operations
• Proven supervisory experience in a production or operations environment
• Strong knowledge of fish handling and harvesting best practices
• Ability to work in challenging outdoor lake environments
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Good communication skills in English and local languages
• Valid boat riding license is an added advantage
