Job Description
The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development Uganda is seeking qualified Graduate Economists to join our dynamic team in Kampala. This is an excellent opportunity for recent economics graduates to launch their careers in public service and contribute to Uganda's economic development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct economic research and analysis to support policy formulation
• Assist in monitoring and evaluating economic programmes and projects
• Prepare economic reports, briefs, and presentations for senior management
• Analyse economic data and trends affecting Uganda's economy
• Support budget preparation and economic planning processes
• Participate in inter-ministerial committees and working groups
• Contribute to economic forecasting and modelling exercises
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Statistics, or related field from a recognised university
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Knowledge of statistical software packages (STATA, SPSS, or R)
• Understanding of Uganda's economic landscape and development challenges
