Diageo, a global leader in premium drinks, is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Finance Manager to join our team in Kampala, Uganda. This is a senior leadership role where you will oversee all financial operations for our Ugandan business, ensuring financial health, compliance, and strategic growth in one of Africa's most dynamic markets.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Oversee all financial operations, reporting, and compliance for Diageo's Uganda operations.
- Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis processes to guide business decisions.
- Ensure strict adherence to Ugandan accounting standards (IFRS) and international financial regulations.
- Manage, mentor, and develop a team of skilled finance professionals.
- Collaborate with departments across the business (Sales, Supply, Marketing) to drive financial performance and profitability.
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and reports for local and group management.
- Implement and optimise financial controls and ERP systems to improve efficiency.
- Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors, banks, and tax authorities in Uganda.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or a related field from a recognised university.
- Full professional accounting qualification (CPA or ACCA) is mandatory.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a senior finance role, with at least 2 years in a management capacity.
- Proven experience in the FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods), manufacturing, or beverage industry is highly preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking skills.
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities with excellent communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of Ugandan tax laws and financial regulations.
