Exciting Engine Cadet Opportunity in Western Uganda
Anthony Veder is seeking a motivated and dedicated Engine Cadet to join our operations in Endiinzi Town Board, Western Region, Uganda. This is an excellent entry-level position for individuals passionate about marine engineering and looking to build a rewarding career in the maritime industry. As a cadet, you will receive hands-on training and mentorship to develop your technical skills and professional knowledge.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist senior engineering officers with the operation and maintenance of shipboard machinery and equipment.
- Learn and adhere to all safety procedures and maritime regulations applicable in Ugandan waters.
- Participate in routine engine room watches and maintenance schedules under supervision.
- Help maintain accurate logs and records of engine performance, fuel consumption, and maintenance activities.
- Support troubleshooting and repair work on propulsion systems, generators, pumps, and auxiliary equipment.
- Learn about environmental protection measures and waste management procedures on board.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Ugandan Certificate of Education (UCE) or equivalent with credits in Mathematics, Physics, and English.
- Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field is a strong advantage.
- Strong willingness to learn, a good work ethic, and the ability to follow instructions precisely.
- Good physical fitness and ability to work in a marine environment.
- Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tools.
- Must be a Ugandan citizen or have the legal right to work in Uganda.
