About the Role:
As a Dispenser at our Jinja facility, you will play a crucial role in the pharmacy department. You will be responsible for preparing, documenting, and dispensing medications and other medical supplies to both hospital units and direct clients. Your professional demeanour and excellent communication skills will ensure patients receive accurate information to improve their treatment adherence and overall health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately prepare and dispense prescribed drugs and medical supplies.
• Maintain proper documentation and records of all dispensed medications.
• Provide clear and empathetic counselling to patients on medication usage, dosage, and potential side effects.
• Ensure the pharmacy unit adheres to all standard operating procedures and safety guidelines.
• Manage inventory of drugs and supplies, assisting with stock-taking and ordering.
• Collaborate with other hospital units to ensure seamless patient care.
• Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and patient confidentiality.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Pharmacy or a related field from a recognised institution.
• Valid practising licence from the Allied Health Professionals Council.
• Prior experience as a dispenser or in a pharmacy setting is an advantage.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-centred approach.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Familiarity with Ugandan pharmacy regulations and standards.
