Digital Health Specialist Job in Kampala, Uganda - Clinton Health Access Initiative
Job Description
The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is seeking a skilled and experienced Digital Health Specialist to join our team in Kampala. This is a pivotal role focused on implementing and scaling innovative digital health solutions across health facilities in Uganda. You will be at the forefront of transforming healthcare delivery through technology, working directly with the Ministry of Health and other partners to strengthen Uganda's health information systems.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of digital health needs and infrastructure gaps within Uganda's public health facilities.
- Lead the planning, deployment, and management of digital health technologies and platforms, including the District Health Information Software 2 (DHIS2).
- Develop and deliver tailored training programmes for health workers and system administrators to ensure effective adoption and use of digital tools.
- Monitor and evaluate system performance, providing technical support and troubleshooting to ensure optimal functionality.
- Collaborate with government stakeholders, technology vendors, and partner organisations to align digital health initiatives with national priorities.
- Prepare detailed reports on project progress, challenges, and impact for internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Public Health Informatics, or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of hands-on professional experience in the digital health sector, preferably within Uganda or the East African region.
- Proven technical expertise and working knowledge of DHIS2 and other common health management information systems (HMIS) used in Uganda.
- Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully managing technology deployments.
- In-depth understanding of Uganda's digital health landscape, policies, and key stakeholders.
- Excellent training, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
