Job Description
The Deposit Protection Fund of Uganda is seeking an experienced Deposit Protection Fund Manager to join our team in Kampala. This critical leadership position plays a vital role in maintaining financial stability and protecting depositors across Uganda's banking sector.
As a Deposit Protection Fund Manager, you will be responsible for:
• Managing and overseeing Uganda's deposit protection scheme operations
• Serving as deposit insurance scheme for customers of contributing financial institutions
• Acting as receiver or liquidator of financial institutions when appointed by Bank of Uganda
• Ensuring compliance with Uganda's financial regulations and protection policies
• Developing strategies to enhance deposit protection effectiveness in the Ugandan market
• Collaborating with Bank of Uganda and other financial regulatory bodies
• Managing risk assessment and mitigation strategies for the protection fund
We are looking for candidates with:
• Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Economics, or related field (Master's preferred)
• Minimum 5 years experience in financial services, banking regulation, or legal compliance
• Strong understanding of Uganda's financial sector and regulatory framework
• Proven leadership experience in financial institution management
• Excellent knowledge of deposit protection schemes and insurance mechanisms
