Data Manager Job at Kijani Forestry in Gulu, Uganda

Kijani Forestry, a leading sustainable forestry company in Northern Uganda, is seeking an experienced Data Manager to join our team in Gulu. This position plays a crucial role in managing our forestry data systems and supporting sustainable forest management practices across Uganda.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design and implement data management systems for forestry operations
• Collect, process, and analyse forest inventory data
• Maintain accurate records of tree growth, harvesting, and conservation activities
• Develop data collection protocols and train field staff
• Generate reports for management and regulatory compliance
• Ensure data security and backup systems are maintained
• Collaborate with forestry teams across different regions of Uganda

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Forestry, Environmental Science or related field
• Minimum 3 years experience in data management, preferably in forestry or environmental sector
• Proficiency in database management software and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Experience with GIS software is an advantage
• Excellent communication skills in English; local languages a plus
