Database Administrator Job at Tropical Bank Limited in Kampala

Tropical Bank Limited, one of Uganda's leading financial institutions, is seeking an experienced Database Administrator to join our dynamic IT team in Kampala. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled professional to manage and optimize our banking database systems while ensuring the highest levels of data security and availability.

Key Responsibilities:
• Design, install, monitor, maintain, and manage the Bank's databases
• Ensure high levels of data confidentiality, integrity, and availability
• Execute procedures for database operations, maintenance, security, archiving, and recovery
• Provide first-level infrastructure support to all Branches and Head Office units
• Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans
• Monitor database performance and ensure optimal license management
• Maintain up-to-date documentation of all enterprise databases and procedures
• Troubleshoot database issues and implement corrective actions
• Collaborate with vendors on complex database-related projects
• Ensure compliance with banking regulations and AML/CFT/CPF policies

Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• Microsoft Certified Database Administrator certifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience in database administration
• Knowledge of Microsoft Server Operating Systems and UNIX
• Strong understanding of banking operations (added advantage)
• Basic understanding of network fundamentals and troubleshooting
