Communications Specialist Job at Habitat for Humanity Uganda

Habitat for Humanity Uganda is seeking a talented Communications Specialist to join our team in Uganda. This is an exciting opportunity for a communications professional to contribute to our mission of providing decent housing solutions across Uganda.

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies for Habitat for Humanity Uganda
- Create engaging content for various platforms including social media, websites, and print materials
- Manage media relations and build strong relationships with local Ugandan media outlets
- Coordinate public awareness campaigns about housing rights and affordable shelter
- Produce compelling stories and case studies from our projects across Uganda
- Monitor and report on communication campaign effectiveness
- Support fundraising and donor communication efforts

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related field
- Minimum 3 years of experience in communications role in Uganda
- Excellent writing and editing skills in English, with knowledge of local languages as an advantage
- Proven experience with social media management and digital content creation
- Strong understanding of the Ugandan media landscape
- Experience working with NGOs or development organisations preferred
