Brand and Communications Manager Job at Hima Cement in Kampala, Uganda

Hima Cement Limited, a leading building solutions company in Uganda, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Brand and Communications Manager to join our team in Kampala. This is a senior-level opportunity for a strategic thinker to shape and protect our brand reputation across Uganda and the wider region.

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive brand and communication strategies that align with our business objectives. You will lead all external and internal communications, manage media relations, and oversee our digital presence to strengthen Hima Cement's position as an employer and industry leader of choice.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement an integrated annual brand and communications strategy.
• Lead media relations, acting as the primary company spokesperson and managing all press engagements.
• Oversee the company's digital footprint, including website content, social media channels, and online reputation.
• Create compelling content for various platforms, including press releases, articles, newsletters, and marketing collateral.
• Manage internal communications to ensure staff are informed and engaged with company developments.
• Plan and execute corporate events, sponsorships, and CSR initiatives that enhance brand visibility.
• Monitor media coverage and industry trends, providing insights and crisis communication management when necessary.
• Manage the brand and communications budget and agency relationships effectively.

Requirements & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
• Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a similar senior brand or communications management role, preferably within the manufacturing, FMCG, or corporate sector in Uganda.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with a strong portfolio of published work.
• Proven track record in managing successful media campaigns and crisis communication.
• In-depth understanding of the Ugandan media landscape and digital marketing trends.
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
