Technical Officer - Capacity Building and Sustainability Reporting Job at Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development

The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (MoFPED) is seeking qualified and experienced Technical Officers to join our team in Kampala. This is a critical role focused on enhancing institutional capacity and driving sustainability reporting initiatives within Uganda's public finance management framework. Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Design, develop, and implement comprehensive capacity building programmes for ministry staff and partner institutions.
• Lead the development, coordination, and submission of high-quality sustainability and development reports in line with national and international frameworks.
• Conduct training needs assessments and deliver targeted training workshops on public financial management, planning, and reporting.
• Provide technical support and mentorship to ministry departments on best practices in sustainability reporting and capacity development.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of capacity building interventions and report on outcomes.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including government agencies, development partners, and civil society, to align reporting and capacity efforts.
• Stay abreast of global and regional trends in sustainability reporting and integrate relevant standards into national processes.

Requirements and Qualifications:

• A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Economics, Development Studies, Public Administration, Business Administration, Statistics, or a related field. A Master's degree will be an added advantage.
• At least 3-5 years of proven experience in capacity building, training, project management, or sustainability/environmental, social, and governance (ESG) reporting.
• Strong understanding of Uganda's public finance management system and national development planning processes (e.g., NDP).
• Excellent report writing, presentation, and communication skills in English.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite and data analysis tools.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team and with diverse stakeholders.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to public service.
