Job Description
The Presidential Initiative on Banana Industrial Development (PIBID) is seeking an experienced Strategy Development Consultant to facilitate the comprehensive review of the BIRDC corporate strategy and develop a national banana crop subsector strategy for 2025/26-2029/30. This consultancy represents a unique opportunity to contribute to Uganda's agricultural transformation and banana industry development.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct thorough review and assessment of current BIRDC corporate strategy
• Develop comprehensive strategy for nationwide banana crop subsector development
• Analyse market trends, challenges and opportunities in Uganda's banana industry
• Facilitate stakeholder engagement workshops and consultations
• Prepare detailed implementation framework for 2025/26-2029/30 strategy period
• Provide recommendations for sustainable banana industry growth in Uganda
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Advanced degree in Agriculture Economics, Business Administration, or related field
• Minimum 5 years experience in agricultural strategy development in Uganda
• Proven track record in corporate strategy review and sector development planning
• Strong understanding of Uganda's agricultural landscape and banana value chain
• Excellent facilitation and stakeholder engagement skills
• Experience working with government initiatives and development projects
