Uganda Railways Corporation (URC) is seeking qualified and experienced Sailors to join our maritime operations team in Kampala. As a Sailor with Uganda Railways Corporation, you will play a vital role in our maritime operations, ensuring safe and efficient water transport services. This position offers the chance to work on Uganda's beautiful water bodies while developing valuable maritime skills.

Key Responsibilities:
• Operating and maintaining vessels according to established safety procedures
• Assisting with navigation and vessel operations under the captain's direction
• Performing routine maintenance and cleaning duties on board
• Handling ropes, cables, and mooring operations during docking
• Monitoring weather conditions and reporting any concerns
• Ensuring passenger and cargo safety throughout journeys
• Maintaining proper documentation and log entries

Requirements:
• Valid Certificate of Competency from recognised maritime authority
• Minimum 2 years of sailing experience on Ugandan water bodies
• Physical fitness and ability to perform demanding tasks
• Swimming proficiency and water safety knowledge
• Understanding of Lake Victoria and other Ugandan waterway navigation
• Good communication skills in English and local languages
• Willingness to work flexible hours and overnight shifts
