Job Description
The Joint Clinical Research Center (JCRC) is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Risk and Compliance Officer to join our team in Lubowa Estates, Kampala. This is a vital role within Uganda's leading clinical research institution, responsible for ensuring our operations adhere to all regulatory standards and internal policies.
As a Risk and Compliance Officer at JCRC, you will play a key role in safeguarding the organisation's integrity and reputation. You will be at the forefront of promoting a culture of compliance and ethical practice within the healthcare and research sector in Uganda.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and monitor an effective compliance programme for JCRC operations.
• Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability.
• Prepare and present clear and concise compliance reports to management.
• Ensure the organisation complies with Ugandan laws, regulations, and guidelines relevant to clinical research and healthcare.
• Investigate and resolve compliance issues, allegations, or irregularities.
• Develop and deliver compliance training programmes for staff.
• Stay updated on changes in local and international regulatory landscapes affecting clinical research.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. A professional qualification in risk or compliance is a strong advantage.
• Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a compliance, audit, or risk management role.
• Strong knowledge of Ugandan regulatory frameworks, particularly in healthcare or research.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
