Job Description
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Switzerland is seeking an experienced Regional Technical Referent Fleet to join our humanitarian mission in Uganda. This senior technical position plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance and management of our vehicle fleet across Uganda's diverse operational regions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical expertise and support for fleet management across MSF Switzerland's Uganda operations
- Develop and implement fleet maintenance protocols and procedures
- Coordinate vehicle repairs, servicing, and technical inspections
- Train and mentor local fleet management teams in Ugandan operational areas
- Ensure compliance with MSF safety standards and Ugandan transport regulations
- Manage fleet documentation, including insurance, registration, and technical records
- Optimise fleet utilisation and reduce operational costs
- Coordinate with logistics and programme teams to ensure efficient vehicle allocation
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fleet management or automotive technical roles
- Proven experience working in humanitarian or development sectors in Uganda
- Strong knowledge of vehicle maintenance and repair procedures
- Familiarity with Ugandan transport regulations and road safety standards
- Excellent leadership and team management skills
- Fluency in English; knowledge of local Ugandan languages is an advantage
- Willingness to travel extensively within Uganda's operational areas
