Programme Officer Job at UNHCR Uganda - Kampala

UNHCR Uganda is seeking an experienced Programme Officer to join our team in Kampala. This senior role offers an exciting opportunity to coordinate and manage programme activities that make a real difference in the lives of refugees and displaced persons across Uganda.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement comprehensive programme strategies aligned with UNHCR's mission
• Monitor programme implementation and budget utilisation to ensure optimal resource allocation
• Coordinate effectively with implementing partners and stakeholders across Uganda
• Prepare detailed programme reports, proposals, and documentation
• Conduct thorough programme reviews and evaluations to measure impact
• Ensure strict compliance with UNHCR rules, regulations, and procedures
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to programme staff members
• Manage programme cycles from conception through to completion

Requirements and Qualifications:
• University degree in Economics, Business Administration, Social Sciences or related field
• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in programme management
• Strong project management skills with proven track record
• Experience in results-based management methodologies
• Excellent proficiency in English (both written and verbal)
• Comprehensive knowledge of UN system and procedures
• Experience working in humanitarian or development contexts in Uganda
