Procurement and Supply Chain Manager Job in Kampala - BIRDC

The Banana Industrial Research and Development Centre (BIRDC) is seeking an experienced Procurement and Supply Chain Manager to join our dynamic team in Kampala. As Uganda's leading banana processing research facility, we're looking for a skilled professional to oversee our procurement operations and supply chain management.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement procurement strategies for banana processing operations
• Manage end-to-end supply chain processes from sourcing to delivery
• Oversee vendor selection, negotiation, and relationship management
• Ensure timely procurement of quality materials and equipment
• Maintain inventory control and stock management systems
• Implement cost-saving initiatives while maintaining quality standards
• Ensure compliance with Ugandan procurement regulations and standards
• Coordinate with research and development teams on material requirements

Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or related field
• Minimum 5 years' experience in procurement and supply chain management
• Professional certification in procurement (CIPS or equivalent)
• Strong knowledge of Ugandan procurement laws and regulations
• Experience in agricultural or manufacturing sector preferred
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office
