Part-Time General Service Assistant Job at CURE International Hospital - Mbale, Uganda

CURE International Children's Hospital in Mbale is seeking a dedicated and reliable Part-Time General Service Assistant to join our support team. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals in Eastern Uganda looking for meaningful part-time work in a mission-driven healthcare environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform general cleaning and sanitation of assigned hospital areas, including wards, offices, and common spaces.
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks and minor repairs as directed.
- Support the setup and preparation of rooms for hospital activities and events.
- Handle and transport hospital supplies, equipment, and laundry in a safe manner.
- Ensure proper waste segregation and disposal according to hospital and Ugandan health guidelines.
- Provide courteous support to staff, patients, and visitors.
- Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards promptly to the supervisor.

Requirements & Qualifications:
- Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) or equivalent.
- Previous experience in cleaning, maintenance, or general service roles is an advantage.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for periods.
- Good understanding of basic hygiene and sanitation practices.
- Reliable, honest, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- A heart for service and a positive attitude working in a children's hospital setting.
- Must be a resident of Mbale or surrounding areas in Eastern Region.
