Job Description

The National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) is Uganda's principal agency for environmental management, established under the National Environment Act Cap. 181. NEMA is mandated to coordinate, monitor, enforce, and supervise all environmental activities to ensure sustainable development in Uganda. We are currently seeking dedicated and qualified Ugandan professionals to join our team in various capacities.

Available Positions:
NEMA has announced multiple vacancies across different departments. Detailed job descriptions for each specific role are available for download. These positions are based at our headquarters in Kampala.

Key Responsibilities (Vary by Position):
• Implementing and enforcing environmental policies and regulations in Uganda.
• Conducting environmental monitoring, assessments, and audits.
• Coordinating with government ministries, departments, agencies, and local governments on environmental matters.
• Promoting public awareness and education on environmental conservation.
• Contributing to national reports and strategies for sustainable development.

Basic Requirements for Applicants:
• Must be a Ugandan citizen.
• Possess a relevant Bachelor's or postgraduate degree from a recognised institution.
• Provide certified academic transcripts and certificates.
• Demonstrate a strong understanding of Uganda's environmental challenges and legal framework.
