Join Catholic Relief Services as a MEAL Officer in Kampala
Catholic Relief Services (CRS) Uganda is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented MEAL Officer to join our team in Kampala. This is an excellent opportunity for development professionals passionate about monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning to contribute to meaningful humanitarian and development work across Uganda.
About the Role
As a MEAL Officer, you will play a crucial role in supporting project teams throughout the project cycle. You will coordinate MEAL activities, monitor project progress, support evaluations, and enhance accountability and learning initiatives. Your work will ensure our projects consistently apply best practices and improve their impact on the communities we serve.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate and implement MEAL activities in line with CRS standards and donor requirements
- Monitor project implementation, identify challenges, and recommend adjustments
- Support project evaluations and assist partners in data collection and analysis
- Prepare timely project reports and documentation
- Collect information on capacity needs and monitor technical support activities
- Identify information for case studies and reports on promising practices
- Collaborate with local partners, community members, and government officials
Requirements and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies or related field
- Minimum 3 years of project support experience, preferably in MEAL with an NGO
- Experience in participatory action planning and community engagement
- Strong skills in project monitoring and data collection
- Proficiency in MS Office packages (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Excellent observation, analysis, and relationship management skills
- Attention to detail and results-oriented approach
- Fluency in English required
- Willingness to travel up to 30% within Uganda
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with local partners in Uganda
- Staff supervision experience
- Strong understanding of Uganda's development context
