Locum Transport and Logistics Officer Job at JCRC Uganda - Lubowa Estates

The Joint Clinical Research Centre (JCRC) is a leading medical research institution in Uganda. We are currently seeking a qualified and motivated Locum Transport and Logistics Officer to join our dynamic team at our Lubowa Estates offices, off Entebbe Road. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to vital healthcare and research operations in Uganda.

Key Responsibilities & Duties

• Coordinate and manage the daily transport schedule for staff, supplies, and equipment.
• Ensure the proper maintenance, servicing, and roadworthiness of the organisation's fleet of vehicles.
• Manage logistics for the distribution of medical supplies, samples, and other materials.
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, fuel consumption, and maintenance logs.
• Supervise and schedule drivers, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and Ugandan traffic laws.
• Liaise with suppliers and service providers for vehicle repairs, parts, and other logistics needs.
• Prepare timely reports on transport and logistics activities for management.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A minimum of a Diploma in Transport and Logistics Management, Fleet Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Bachelor's degree is an added advantage.
• Proven experience (at least 2 years) in transport, fleet, or logistics management, preferably within the healthcare, NGO, or research sector in Uganda.
• Valid driving permit with classes relevant to the organisation's fleet.
• Strong knowledge of Ugandan traffic laws and vehicle maintenance standards.
• Excellent organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• High level of integrity, responsibility, and ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in computer applications (MS Word, Excel).
