Job Description

Marriott International, a world leader in hospitality, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Services & Welfare Supervisor for the pre-opening phase of the new Marriott Kampala Hotel in Nsambya. This is a fantastic opportunity to build the HR foundation for a premier international hotel in Uganda's capital and play a key role in shaping the team culture from the ground up.

As the Services & Welfare Supervisor, you will be instrumental in establishing and managing core HR functions to support our new team members. You will ensure the highest standards of employee welfare and service delivery are met during this exciting launch period.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage employee welfare programmes, ensuring a supportive and positive work environment for all pre-opening staff.
  • Coordinate and administer employee services, including but not limited to, uniform issuance, locker facilities, and staff transportation.
  • Assist in the implementation of HR policies and procedures specific to the pre-opening and operational phases.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for employee enquiries related to services and welfare, providing timely and effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with the HR team to organise staff engagement activities and onboarding programmes for new hires.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with local Ugandan labour laws and Marriott International standards.
  • Support the recruitment team with logistics for interviews and hiring events in Kampala.

Requirements & Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, Hospitality, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience in an HR or supervisory role, preferably within the hospitality industry in Uganda.
  • Strong understanding of employee welfare practices and Ugandan employment regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for service.
  • Proactive, organised, and able to thrive in a fast-paced pre-opening environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
