Health Financing Analyst Job in Kampala - Clinton Health Access Initiative
Job Description
The Clinton Health Access Initiative (CHAI) is seeking a dedicated and analytical Health Financing Analyst to join our team in Kampala. This is a pivotal role supporting Uganda's journey towards Universal Health Coverage (UHC) by providing critical financial analysis and strategic planning for the health sector.
In this role, you will work closely with government partners and stakeholders to strengthen health financing systems. You will have the opportunity to contribute directly to impactful policies that improve healthcare access and affordability for Ugandans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct in-depth cost-effectiveness analyses and health economics research to inform policy decisions.
- Develop and model sustainable health financing strategies for Uganda's health system.
- Support budget planning, resource allocation, and financial projections for health programmes.
- Prepare high-quality policy briefs, reports, and presentations for government and donor partners.
- Collaborate with the Ministry of Health and other key stakeholders to advance health financing reforms.
- Analyse health expenditure data and monitor financial flows within the health sector.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- A Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Public Health, Statistics, or a related field. A Master's degree is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience in health financing, economic analysis, public financial management, or a related area.
- Proven proficiency in statistical and data analysis software (e.g., Stata, R, SPSS, Excel).
- Strong knowledge of Uganda's health system structure, challenges, and financing landscape.
- Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, multi-stakeholder environment.
