Finance Officer Job in Kampala, Uganda | Compassion International

Compassion International Uganda is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Finance Officer to join our team in Kampala. This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified finance professional to contribute to a meaningful cause while advancing their career in a reputable international organisation.

About the Role

As a Finance Officer, you will be responsible for the accurate and efficient management of financial operations. You will play a critical role in ensuring financial integrity and compliance, directly supporting Compassion's mission to release children from poverty in Uganda.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day financial transactions and processing of payments.


• Prepare, monitor, and report on organisational budgets.


• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with international and organisational standards.


• Maintain meticulous financial records and documentation.


• Provide crucial support during internal and external audit processes.


• Ensure compliance with Ugandan financial regulations and statutory requirements.


• Utilise accounting software to streamline financial processes.

Requirements & Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, Business Administration (Accounting), or a related field from a recognised university.


• At least four (4) years of proven experience in a finance or accounting role.


• Professional certification such as ACCA or CPA is highly preferred.


• Strong analytical skills and high proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP).


• In-depth knowledge of Ugandan financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting standards is a distinct advantage.


• Excellent attention to detail, integrity, and a commitment to ethical financial practices.
