Mildmay Institute of Health Sciences is seeking a dedicated Female Hostel Warden to join our Student Affairs team in Kampala. This is an excellent opportunity for professionals passionate about student welfare and residential facility management.
Job Summary:
As a Hostel Warden, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our student residential facilities. You will work closely with the Student Affairs Coordinator to maintain a safe, orderly, and supportive living environment for our students while overseeing catering services to ensure quality meals.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee daily operations and supervision of student hostels
• Maintain order, safety, and student well-being in residential facilities
• Monitor catering services and meal provision for students
• Coordinate student support services and residential activities
• Implement safety protocols and emergency response procedures
• Provide guidance and counseling support to students
Requirements and Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Sciences, Hospitality Management, Psychology, Counseling, or Public Administration
• Diploma holders with relevant experience may be considered
• Minimum 2 years' experience in student accommodation or youth welfare programs
• Experience in higher education institutions, schools, or boarding facilities
• Training in guidance counseling, conflict resolution, or student affairs management
• Basic First Aid, Safety, or Emergency response certification
• Computer literacy with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Willingness to reside at the assigned student residential facility

• Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities
• Understanding of student development and welfare needs
